A day out in the countryside... and a few more pictures.

Well, today our cousin Carrie had a friend of hers drive us out to Glendalough, which as a really old monastic settlement. With ruins that were about 1000-800 years old. It was one of those afternoons that was perfect: whenever Char and I think of Ireland, we think of misty, lush, green hillsides with old stone buildings. As well, add in a major portion of Lord of the Rings type scenery! We fully expected to see some hobbits or elves using the forest paths. Absolutely amazing scenery!

Yesterday, Carrie took us on a walking tour of Dublin, which was really interesting to see the sights and experience the buskers and street performers, the alleys, and the colors of Dublin.
I should add that Carrie is an amazing cook! We have been super blessed to have amazing food while staying with her!! So any cousins, take note and come visit!!
This morning we went to church with Carrie and Dublin Vineyard Church. Again, just a God-send, to come together with other believers and hear a message of the pursuit of holiness and to come to God in worship. Great times. Then, to see the ancient monastery and the outdoor sanctuary of rural Ireland was a great way to continue worshiping God. There are moments that you definitely feel like you are in Europe, and this afternoon was one of them.

  1. Fabulous pictures guys! Glad you enjoyed the day! I'm really pleased you were able to see Glendalough - even if we didn't get to see an elf :)
